Comparison between Barack Obama and John McCain on Women’s Issues
Below is a comparison between the two top candidates on each issues affecting women in the 2008 Election. Since this website is mainly for moms and women I am presenting issues which affect us. This information is not intended to persuade you in either direction, rather I’d like to provide you the opportunity to make an informed decision. If you have any edits, feel something has been reported in error or if I have left out a key issue please comment or email me with a credible source for the correction or addition. (I haven’t included topics like economy or energy. While these topics are also important to women, covering every single topic is not the goal of this exercise.) It’s a shame you didn’t include all the candidates running including members of other parties.
Anyway, I’ve not made a final decision on who I’m going to vote for but I know who I’m not voting for.
It makes me angry when women choose Palin because she is a woman.
Hi Melanie (An American in France) – I would love to add the viewpoints of the other candidates. Putting this together was a lot of work but I will email the other candidates in hopes they can provide direct responses. Stay tuned.

I agree. I also think it’s sad when women choose Hillary Clinton just because she’s a woman. Women have brains and the ability to choose candidates based on their positions just like anyone else. That’s why I’m voting McCain/Palin.

Thank you for this information. I am pro-life and I am a Ron Paul supporter but since he’s pretty much not on the ballot I’m for McCain/Palin because Obama scares the crap out of me.
We should demand that the debates be open to all candidates on the ballot so we could compare and choose the candidate who will work for us and our children instead of the greedy corporations.
While there are other candidates on the ballot, they have no chance of winning. Giving us the highlights on the top 2 is what we need. Thanks for doing this.
I am going with McCain/Palin. I am a pro-life person. I also would prefer my taxes be lowered rather than raised b/c payroll taxes will be increased and the employers will have to pass that on to the working people. Enough comes out already! I also want a president that makes me feel safe – Obama certainly doesn’t do that for me.
Wow, how great is it to have this info organized in one place. If only this could be included on ballots for those undecided!

Here is my ever evolving list of things I'd like to accomplish in this life.
1. Stay happily married to a wonderful, handsome man who I love with all of my heart.
2. Raise 4 smart, caring, and well rounded children.
3. Give birth naturally to at least one child.
4. Adopt at least one child.
5. Spend at least one month in Europe, specifically Italy and France.
6. Learn to speak French fluently.
7. Run a full marathon.
8. Build a super successful business that allows our family to do anything we want to without using up every waking hour of my time, i.e. no financial limits.
9. Have one of my photographs appear in National Geographic (print or online).
10. Buy my mother a house and support her so she can retire.
