My First Half Marathon

On Sunday November 7th I ran a half marathon with a cold and probably not enough training. That is 13.1 miles. I trained for about 5 weeks with a great group of woman from the fitness class I teach on weekday mornings and my husband. It was so inspiring so see them commit to it and then finish the race. We weren’t going for the fastest times or glory. We just wanted to do it. On my bucket list is a full... read more

Make a Pact to Fight the Frump

I love my husband. He is the most handsome man on this planet. We have known each other for a long time – since I was 12 years old. Still to this day I catch him looking at me like he wants to pounce and I love it. There is something very powerful in knowing your partner wants to do unspeakable things with you. Positives: Really the best part is the fact that I do not have to worry about taking the pill everyday. I can’t begin to tell you how... read more

Mirena – I Got It

I got Mirena yesterday. It was not bad at all. I did a lot of research on it before hand. (You might want to read my post on the pros and cons of the Mirena IUD/IUC.) The procedure took about 5 minutes total and didn’t hurt. Yesterday, after it was put in, I had a few period-like cramps but nothing Motrin couldn’t handle. I woke up this morning feeling fine. So far so good. My only issue is... read more

Mirena IUD Birth Control – To get or not to get?

Do you have or are you considering getting Mirena or another IUD? Let us know about it in the comments! Since Lily was born I have become progressively more worried about the possibility of getting pregnant again. Obviously the pill doesn’t work for me and, short of tubal ligation, there are only a few other options. When you are breastfeeding you can only take the mini pill. The chances of getting... read more
