Here is a short article from Playing with Your Baby Magazine (from Fisher Price). It has a few tips on how to play with your newborn baby, ages 0-3 months.

Let’s Play!

Here are some of the best ways to entertain your baby in the first 3 months, according to Deborah Weber, Ph.D., manager of the Fisher-Price Child Research Department.

Keep it Simple. Offer baby toys with high contrast primary colors and patterns; you can later introduce play things in bright colors. Toys should be easy for baby to graps …

An article titled, “The Good Wife’s Guide“, was allegedly published in a 1955 issue of either John Bull or Housekeeping Monthly. Some doubt it’s authenticity but it’s an entertaining read none the less.
Click on the image for the full size.

Despite a few obvious pitfalls in the article such as, “remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours” or “don’t complain…if he stays out all night”, there are rules in this article I feel a wife should do (Forgive me feminists but I explain more below). So without …

Dear Blog and Faithful Readers,
I have sorely neglected you over the past 3 weeks. I’ve failed to fill your bottomless bellies with rich fruitful words and photos. Blog – you were almost abolished into the mommy blog scrap pile…full of blogs that once had purpose and life but are now just thin skeletons resembling something once great. Readers – you were almost free to go on to bigger and better blogs, written by people who are actually somewhat interesting.
Well, shame on me. I don’t even have a worthy excuse. Every …

Fever, chills, headache, sore throat – I’ve got it all. Mix that in with a midterm paper, working full time, a dash of a 4 month old and a sprinkle of a husband in law school and you have a recipe for disaster. Stan asked the other day, “Are we the only species that intentionally deprive ourselves of sleep?” It’s true actually. I Googled it. Google knows everything and everything on the internet is true, so I believe it. I mean, think about it – compare the average human life …

At three months old, baby Lily is getting very good at things. When I hold her she uses her arms to hold on. She has started reaching for things in front of her that she wants to touch. She is practicing sitting up and she LOVES to smile. I think most of all she loves to smile. She even smiles at the dog – Shammy Sharoo. My favorite of all things she does – at night she scootches closer to me as the night goes on until she is snuggled …

Tokoni, the Tongan word for help, is a social network which allows users to share their stories. It was started by the president of Skype and a few former eBay executives.
My favorite feature is the bubble browser (under explore connections in the left column). It allows you to see how different stories are connected. When you create a story you can connect it to other stories and they link together creating a web effect. You can read stories in 19 different categories include family, relationships, and religion.
They have also partnered …

Our dinner Friday Night was Salmon wrapped in Bacon with Pesto pasta on the side. It was delicious. This is how to make salmon wrapped in bacon.
Ingredients:

Two Pieces of Salmon
4 Pieces of Bacon
Butter
Parsley
Basil
2 toothpicks or other similar device

Directions

Preheat oven on broil.
Coat Salmon with a thin layer of butter and season with parsley and basil.

Lay the Bacon over the Salmon like the picture below and tuck the ends underneath.

Flip the Salmon over and use your toothpick (in this case all I had was paperclips =0 ) to hold the bacon around the …
